Custom Fiberglass Piping Systems

Fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), is a thermosetting plastic strengthened with fiber strand and/or fabric reinforcements to provide a strong, corrosion resistant matrix.  FRP is also extremely abrasion and impact resistant.  The tensile strength of FRP pipe is dependant on the wall thickness, construction type and glass content.  FRP pipe can be made to huge specifications reaching upwards of 200" in diameter.  Operating temperatures can reach up to 300° F for some types of grades.  FRP has many methods of construction including filament wound, contact molded, centrifugal casting and resin transfer molded.  Typical applications include water and waste water, air pollution, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals and waste treatment.

Key Properties

  • Corrosion Resistant
  • Lighter than Steel
  • Stronger than Thermoplastic
  • High Operating Temperatures
  • Electrical / Thermal Insulator
