Thermoplastic Piping - CPVC
Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) is simultaneously light, flexible, tough and exceptionally corrosion-resistant. CPVC is highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. CPVC pressure pipe has an upper working temperature limit of 200°F (93°C), or approximately 60°F (15°C) above that of Type I Grade I PVC. Typical applications include hot water systems, hot acid distribution and elevated temperature waste collection. CPVC systems should NOT be used to transport or store compressed air or gases.

CPVC Thermoplastic Piping
Like PVC, Schedule 80 CPVC has a thicker wall then Schedule 40. This makes the piping stronger and more adept at handling increased pressure. CPVC Schedule 80 also can be threaded at the ends while Schedule 40 cannot.
The thinner wall and increased inside diameter compared to Schedule 80 CPVC allows Schedule 40 CPVC to have a higher volume and lower pressure. It also tends to be less expensive then Schedule 80.

Schedule 80 Fittings
All fittings are made in Schedule 80 CPVC, but they can be used with Schedule 40 CPVC piping as well. The smooth interior walls of the fittings result in lower pressure loss and higher volume than conventional metal fittings. Fittings are available as molded or fabricated.
Molded fittings are formed through the injection molding process where CPVC compound is injected directly into a fitting mold. Smaller molded fittings are more cost effective compared to fabricated fittings and are produced in large quantities.
CPVC fittings can also be custom fabricated. The components can be made to virtually any size and specification for either pressure or non pressure applications. Schedule 80 Drain Waste Vent fittings and Low Pressure fittings can also be fabricated.
