Thermoplastic Piping - PP

Polypropylene (PP) is a member of the polyolefin family and is one of the lightest plastics known. It possesses excellent chemical resistance to many acids, alkalis and organic solvents. PP is one of the best materials to use for systems exposed to varying PH levels, as many plastics do not handle both acids and bases well. It is not recommended for use with hydrocarbons and aromatics. Typical applications include water treatment, clean chemical processes, pharmaceutical operations, industrial plating, waste treatment systems and food processing applications.

Proline® Polypropylene Piping System

The Proline® polypropylene piping system is made of a high molecular weight resin of copolymer or homopolymer polypropylene materials. It is 9 times lighter than iron and 36% lighter than hard PVC. Proline® combines high chemical resistance with toughness and strength at operating temperatures higher than PVC. Its upper temperature limit is 195° F (90° C). Proline® is available in 150 psi (SDR 11) or 45 psi (SDR33) standard with an option for 90 psi (SDR 17.3). All pipe and fittings are gray in color. Standard sizes of Proline® are 1/2" (20mm) to 20" (500mm), but can be special ordered up to 54" (1400mm).

Chem-Pure Polypropylene Piping System

Chem-Pure is manufactured by Chemtrol® from a high-purity, polypropylene homopolymer compound. Chem-Pure pipe is available in Schedule 80 and Schedule 40 in both black (up to 6" diameter) and natural (up to 4" diameter). Fittings are industrial, heavy duty Schedule 80 hub style in threaded or socket form. Socket fittings utilize heat fusion type welded connections for joining. Chem-Pure operates at temperatures up to 180° F.
